Ελενΰ Αθνγυύμ
You used to ask me how my day was,
You used to ask if I’m still up…
But somehow you have turned the tables
And now now it’s me who can’t give up.

I’m pretty sure there won’t be ever
A story that includes us both,
But they say never to say never;
It’s not like you would break an oath.

We could have started, but we didn’t;
Too many obstacles to count.
The fruit may seem to you forbidden,
But time brings everything around.

My conscience knows, I’m not allowed
To open every single lock.
It’s hard to blend in with the crowd
Of those who just want to talk.

So, late at night, when when you are reading
What faintly hides between the lines,
Don’t misinterpret as misleading
The spoken words and telltale signs.
