Do not think, that ancient times are better

Олег Цымбаленко
Imagine you're in ancient times,
Watchman on a watchtower.
You see the time, when sun will rise,
Hills covered by the flowers.

This pleasant view immortal is,
Birds are singing 'round.
But something always breaks all this,
Forces are marching on the ground.

War's coming upon the kingdom now,
Of peace and the deepest calm.
Forces are marching on the ground,
Just of upset peasants crowd.

Imagine you're in ancient times,
Where the wars the slaughters are.
How will you have behaved yourself,
If you're on a battleground?

How's hard it to see human's death,
Senseless pouring blood.
When you see dying all your friends,
When war is breaking peaceful heart.

After a day or two may be,
When the battle's over,
The only thing that you will see -
Is death and horror.

All wounded soldiers come back home,
Broken families.
Appearing lots of soldiers tombs,
Friends are in memories.

Imagine you're in ancient times,
Where there are no stability.
When all the Earth from problems cries,
Forget 'bout this ability...
