Whose Dreams?..
Lush, tasty drinking quite elates me,
I join in passion with the wine.
And yet one care absorbs my mind,
One puzzle guilefully escapes me.
Indeed, I strive to clear the point
(And all my faulty truth thus gleams!):
Does wine beseech a poet’s dreams?
Do dreams of wine allure a poet?

ЧЬИ ГРЕЗЫ?..
Я пить люблю, пить много, вкусно,
Сливаясь пламенно с вином.
Но размышляю об одном
И не могу решить искусно.
Да, мудрено решить мне это
(И в этом вся моя вина!):
Поэт ли хочет грез вина,
Вино ли просит грез поэта?
