Forbidden Love

Евгения Саркисьянц
I find your love in a forbidden place
Where daydream leads me by a misty trace,
Where your soft gaze is lifting my defense,
Where I can see your heartbeat through its lens.

I touch your love by my entrusting hand,
I slowly build my castle on the sand.
Each grain holds promise that unspoken rests
Upon the calmness of the ocean’s breasts.

I sing my love on the familiar note,
Conceiving music deep inside my throat,
And distant strings will cherish your caress.
My song is clear - you never need to guess.

I keep your love inside a precious jar
I lift the cover – and it takes me far,
Its fragrant scent is delicate and sweet.
I feel the power of its glowing heat.

I have this love in virtue and in sin,
I read it books out loud when night sets in,
I make its bed when it is tired of pain,
I can’t care less when told – it’s all in vain.
