ФОРТУНА

Хоть казалась правдой небыль
И с тобой я близок не был,
Предо мною выросла стена.
Я не мог найти ответа
На вопрос: возможно ль это?
И была ль удача у меня?
Вдруг предо мною безмолвно явился
Старик, ожидающий смерть.
Я закричал, но бежать я не стал,
Я не мог его муки узреть.
Всё во мне перевернулось
И к перу рука тянулась,
И на зов пришли мои мечты.
Спящий в раздумьях, ожил голос трубный,
Как будто я был осенён,
И, как откровенье, явилось виденье,
Сорвавшее цепи времён.
Я собрал всё, что имел,
И отбросил всё, чем был богат,
Разбегались по воде
Лишь круги, куда был брошен взгляд.
А звёзды пели в гармонии
Так безупречно, что я наземь пал,
И проносились тучи чёрные,
Должно быть, пргремел последний залп.
Я пропал...
Где-то в дороге, не знаю, где только
Поверил в свою сущность я,
И мне, словно чудо, явилась фортуна,
Как смысл моего бытия.

An old man awaited his death
Part of me cried out but none turned to hide

It was then I took to thinking
And my hands took to writing

Waiting in wonder my thoughts ran like thunder
Could it be that I've been wasting my mind
I grew sort of cold as the vision unfolded
Bursting the shackles of time
So I gathered what I had
I took a look at what was going down
And it made me kinda sad
Seeing all the circles going slowly round
And the stars sang in harmony
It was so perfect that it laid me down
And the rainclouds were tossed away
Seemed like the world was lost
And I would drown in its sound
Somewhere along the way I don't know where
I had really believed I was poor
Looking, not seeing the point of my being
When all of my fortune is sure
