Reflections on Mysteries of Life

Роман-Орлов
O, mystery of Life, the never-ending tale!
I’m just a grain of sand on your eternal scale.
Sometimes you’re kind to me by showing off your beauty.
Regrets, however, cause me pain, which you collect as duty.

Oh, irony of Fate, the laughter through the tears!
Remembering mistakes that left their scars for years;
The shadows of the past that haunt my sleepless nights;
Alas, too late for justice, to fix the wrongs with rights.

O, magic force of Faith, the energy of prayer!
You raised my spirit higher in torture and despair.
You grew to fight afflictions and gave me strength in pain,
But left my soul in silence when time was spent in vain.

O, persevering Hope that keeps the sick heart ticking!
The light in total darkness: when all is dead you're kicking.
When making my decisions and plotting future’s course
I shed handcuffs, that held me, made up of  good old hopes.

O, cruelty of Love, the love-triangles torture!
Enjoy the wine of passion and praise your lucky fortune.
I thirstily drank each second, kept looking in her eyes.
When flame of love went out I couldn't say goodbyes.

O, never rushing Wisdom, perspective of the age!
Forever right, no doubt, somehow always late.
I could have met you sooner to save myself from pain,
Preferred my own errors avoiding life being tame.
