Miracles

Элиза Микаилова
I never believed in miracles,
So never asked for one,
Protected by being cynical
Till half the life is gone.

Seldom naive, suspicion prone,
Guarded my heart from pain,
Now I'm confused and wondering:
Have I been way too sane?!

What if I were to ask for it?
Impossible as it seems?
What if it's given just to those
Who do not run from dreams?

I always believed that life was hard,
Down to earth is the way,
I wasn't born to touch the stars,
This world is where we stay.

Never has seen a miracle -
I never looked for one,
Blinded by being cynical,
Now half the life is gone.

What if I were to ask for it?
Impossible as it seems...
What if it's given just to those
Who do not run from dreams?
