Bright stars

Полина Кочина
Bright stars, I did not see your gleam
Behind the lights I tried to chase.
I have forgotten how to dream,
Continuing my pointless race.

All streets and people looked the same,
And senseless were the words I read.
I could not stop until I came
To see the stars above my head.

I hear a song, so old yet new,
It calls to seek some distant lands,
To take a road I never knew,
Where stars may fall into my hands.

I know there'll come a moment when
My good old dreams I will recall,
Then rhymes will come back to my pen
And run down like a waterfall.

Bright stars, though my way you foresee,
I dare not ask what's there in store -
Will skies turn grey again for me,
Or is a new hope at the door?
