If it ends

Íèêà Àðåìèõ
If it’s going to end right now
I’ll keep what I was happy with
I’ll remember the lovely vow
That was made by us under the trees

I’ll remember the scent of your hair at a bank
And beholder with thousand eyes
That was drawn on a paper by long-fingered hand
Next to poem with silliest rhymes

You know I’ve enjoyed endless talks through the phone
And night winter walks in the woods
And the time that we spent somewhere outside alone
And our “dates” with a bunch of our dudes

It was so much of fun to just shock our friends
And to make all them envy and laugh
And of course It was nice of you holding my hands
When my times were so crazy and tough.

By the way, I remember you warming my hands
In your pockets when I lost my glove
And it made me feel happy to know we are friends,
Just before we confessed our love.

And I loved riding with you in subway to work
Or to classes or anywhere else
And I loved it when we always managed to talk
When the others would fight in defence.

And those poems we wrote taking turns line by line
And the music we’re trying to make
And cooking the dumplings, and drinking some wine,
And making the ugliest cake

And pictures of butterfly stuck in your hair
And the laptop just left in the wild
And you teaching me things I was struggling to bear
And your treatment, so tender and mild.

I’ll remember us sleeping out there in the tent
And incredible warmness I felt…
But if this part of me is just going to end,
There’s a vow I would want to forget.
