About his tail
And started to read to his friend.
But when he read up
The tale to the end,
The friend hid himself in the sand.

THE STURDIEST GOALKEEPER

A goalkeeper Hippo
Was called to the team.
The Coach is really proud of him:
His stomach is wide,
And his muzzle is great.
And there`s no doubt
He`ll just lock the gate.
The solid goalkeeper,
Imposing and tall –
The sturdiest of all.
He will not miss the ball!

THE LAW OF JUNGLE

The jungle is scary.
Some here are hairy,
Some have awful claws,
Fangs, tusks, mighty paws,
And terrible growling,
And eerie roaring…
Their poison, or glance
Can kill you at once.
And all here would rather
Devour each other.

 DADDY CHIPMUNK

Last night Daddy Chipmunk
Brought home some loot:
A backpack of grains,
A basket of fruit,
A sack of peanuts,
And a cheek pouch of seeds –
For his dear wife
And beloved toothy kids.

WHY PARROT FORGOT IT'S TONGUE

A Parrot neighed, mooed and tweeted,
Meowed, barked, cuckooed and bleated,
It learned to crow, quack and roar,
To grunt fiercely like a boar –
It imitated anyone…
Until forgot its native tongue.

THUNDER

Flighty Windstorm swept the sky,
Heaping clouds up on high.
Suddenly the shower poured –
On the forest, on the pond,
On the meadow, on the road,
On the lamb, and on the goat…
Thunder strictly looked around,
Frowned severely and rumbled.

FLIRTING

A worm was flirting with a pear:
-Oh, let me tickle you, my dear!

Responding to his caress, the pear
Smiled: “You will eat me up, I fear.

You won`t befool me, crafty pickle!
However I don`t mind a tickle.”
