The Ishigurian man

Павел Арещенко
The brave old order! How slow the
old moon wanes!
I doubt the day is something more
than its remains.
I think the world is doomed to float,
and here I stand.
Japan and England are the same,
same Neverland.
To stab the chest is just a way
to check the heart.
Life in stupidity marks you
as being smart.
Your craft is you, and it will last
forever if
You never think, you just stay strong
in your belief .

The poem of course is inspired by two novels of Sir Kazuo Ishiguro.
The Artist of the Floating World (1986)
The Remains of the Day (1989)
