Myself

Рахим Карим
Why did you become a poet
Why did you need this?
Would you calmly eat your cutlets,
Sitting at home, watching TV.

Why did you have to suffer
For others in this world?
Would you calmly eat your pilaf,
Sitting in a teahouse, by the river.

Why did you study as a poet
Spent your life on poetry?
Would you rather smoke your cigarette
Sitting at home on the terrace.

Why did you have to kill yourself
Because of the World created by God?
You would read your prayer slowly,
Standing over your Jainamaz.

You thought the world would change
After your poems for the better.
Who knows, maybe
He will fall face down into the mud.

Why did you torment your heart so much
Making him suffer for so many years?
You better love them carelessly
I would enjoy life for the future.

Was Pushkin so tormented?
Was it really so painful for Shakespeare?
Why were you born a poet
This world is not worth your poetic words.

Who can answer these questions?
Only God can answer these questions!
