The Train is On Fire

Олег Иванилов
(inspired by an old song by "AQUARIUM" band)

Colonel Vassin arrived at the front line
Along with his young pretty wife.
Colonel Vassin called up his regiment
And told 'em: Let's go home! Now it's our life.
We've been conducting a war for over seventy years,
We were taught that living was fight,
But to the best of our intelligence update
We've been fighting ourselves, despite.

I've seen quite a few generals,
They keep on drinking and eating our doom,
Their kids go crazy from having no idea
what else they're supposed to desire in bloom.
Meanwhile the ground keeps on lying in rust,
Ashes can be seen on a dome.
And if we still wanna have somewhere to come back to,
It's high time we came back home.

CHORUS:
This train is on fire,
And we've got nothing else to press.
This train is on fire,
And we've got no elsewhere to regress.
This land used to be ours,
Until we got deep into this fight,
It's gonna die if it belongs to no one.
Just bring it back to us by the right!

There are torches around everywhere,
It's the count of the loss and refits.
And the people who used to shoot our dads,
Keep on making plans for our kids.
We were being given birth to the sounds of marches,
We used to be frightened by jail.
But shall we finally stop crawling on our bellies —
We have to come back home down this rail.

CHORUS:
This train is on fire,
And we've got nothing else to press.
This train is on fire,
And we've got no elsewhere to regress.
This land used to be ours,
Until we got deep into this fight,
It's gonna die if it belongs to no one.
Just bring it back to us by the right!
