Speaking in tongues

Àëüáèíà Êóìèðîâà
Something strange happens now
in some churches for decades,
which would practices allow
more perplexing than charades.

Speaking gibberish, so many
think it is with God connection,
so lured that the penny
doesn’t drop that it’s deception.

It’s the old Babel city
by its priesthood resurrected.
Many people - what a pity! -
now are to it connected.

Their hearts, consumed with pride,
can't distinguish truth from lies,
on the wave of fashion ride,
immature and unwise.

Would a father speak to children
in a language that’s unclear,
which is not designed to build them,
and would puzzling appear?

When the language is confusing,
like an abracadabra,
would this be for him amusing
or exciting, as Viagra?

Would he speak with a translator
to his child he’s adoring?
So it is with the Creator,
who all falsehood is abhorring.

Would the Spirit of the Father
cause us meaninglessly speaking,
not the Bible truth but rather
seek experiences freaking?

Someone pedals this idea,
that to speak such utter nonsense,
like a verbal diarrhea,
wouldn’t stain our conscience.

Someone now advocates
through such practice loosing mind.
To what spirits opens gates
an agenda of this kind?

Those loving paranormal
may be trapped by such seduction,
rooted in the war infernal,
a spiritual abduction.

Lies are prosperous today,
so easily are spreading,
leading thousands astray.
Where those folks are heading?

By their own whims enticed,
by the lust of their pride,
and ignoring Jesus Christ,
when they push His Truth aside.

God is seeking not external
strange verbal mumble-jumble,
but the change that's internal
in the heart contrite and humble.

And one day the time will show,
who's erroneous, who's right.
"By their fruit", He said, "you'll know"...
and He sheds on us His light.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.…”
Matthew 6:5-8

“A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”
