Not religion

Альбина Кумирова
Veering away from God,
skewing truth to bend the Gospel,
Catholic or Pentecostal
churches through the time plod.

Each religion twists and lies.
How can I be consistent,
keeping my beliefs persistent, -
who would give me such advice?

How could one faith keep,
all discrepancies repelling?
Where arrogance is dwelling,
human errors there creep.

As all people are not perfect,
Protestants or Charismatic,
all religions are dogmatic,
brewing in themselves a conflict.

Be it Orthodox or Baptist,
all religions don’t matter.
You cannot become more smarter, -
words of Jesus are the aptest.

Not a stiff denomination
with its creeds would give me hope.
Not the rules I’m seeking, nope,
but the Christ’s alone foundation.

It’s relationship, He’s seeking.
All religions, though well meaning,
always need a bit of cleaning,
when some falsity is sneaking.

On the altar putting pride,
not remaining dull and idle,
if I follow the Bible,
let the Spirit teach and guide.

In the Spirit Christ appears,
giving powers untold,
and I am becoming bold,
not submitting to my fears.

Christ’s example is so pure,
in all actions God reflecting,
and His Word, with God connecting,
can my searching soul cure.

When I am in Christ, He knows
I am His, without confusion,
There’s no disillusion,
if my fruit allegiance shows.

I’m not an empty dreamer!
He’s my Bread, He is my Light.
I’m walking not by sight
but by trusting my Redeemer.

Not just rituals or singing...
Jesus wants me to be whole.
He takes care of my soul,
inner transformation bringing.
