Depression and obsession

Елизавета Кэннэт
Depression and obsession,
Two dark and tangled threads,
A heavy weight upon the chest,
A mind consumed with dread.

Depression wraps its icy arms,
Around the heart so tight,
And drags us down beneath its waves,
A never-ending night.

Obsession whispers in our ear,
Of fears we can't control,
Demanding every waking thought,
And wearing down the soul.

The two, in tandem, can create,
A vicious, endless cycle,
With every day a battle fought,
And victory feeling stifled.
