Majestic somnolence of nature
Inspires overwhelming awe.
Resplendent hills of mighty stature,
Opalescence of virgin snow ...
Suffice to say -- a wintry heaven
Lies there, an enchanted world.
A wizard ruler, talking raven,
Velvety-feathered wings unfurled,
Keeps jungle law and pecking order.
Lest someone dare cross the border,
It opens not the magic door.
Mad bird, a living tape-recorder,
A haunting cry of 'Never more'.
