A Question

Being caught in love’s delight,
I never knew the sorrow.
Now you’re gone, I’m sad tonight,
I long to die tomorrow.

Desperate hope will never let
My heart to love another –
Neither you I will forget,
Nor my love I’ll smother.

And I welcome days of anguish,
Nights of mourning and distress.
Now I am condemned to languish,
Seeking for love’s sweet caress.

Being freed from love’s delight,
Knowing well the sorrow,
I am wondering tonight
Could I love tomorrow?..
