The Night

Владимир Забелин
The park was old, and we were told
The dancing there would be tonight.
We came there, and your dress was snowy-white.
The night was fine, was fine the wine,
And everything seemed to be well.
That night it charmed us with its magic spell.
The music sounded all around.
Amongst the waltzing pares we whirled
And felt at all alone in whole this world!
Was playin' the band. I held your hand,
I saw the feeling in your eyes,
And I was sure you were my dearest prize!
What can we do? That night came through.
Now both of us are not so young,
But we remember nights of love and fun.
Now you’re my wife; that park’s alive,
Young pares still waltz there with no rest,
And the musicians they still do their best!
