Black cat

Èðèíà Âîëêîâà-Ìóðàøåâà
I am a black cat,
I go forth and back,
People avoid me,
Cause I am black.

They think I would better
Be grey or white,
But I am a black cat,
And this is my right.

 I am a black cat,
 I see at night,
They think I see the spirits,
 And they are right.

 They think all their misfortunes
 Are because of me,
 But I’m their guardian angel,
Which they don’t want to see.

I’m a black cat,
I’m a black spot,
They think I am crazy,
But I am not.

When they see me,
They all run away,
I am not allowed
To pass their way.

 I’m a black cat,
 And I like fish,
 This is the only thing
 I want and wish,

 If they could bring me
 Down to the sea,
 I would become a mermaid,
 And they would see.

They thing I would better
Be a bird, or a dog,
Sometimes I am happy
I am not a frog.

If I were a butterfly,
I would fly away,
But I’m a black cat,
And this is my way.

 I’m a black cat,
 And this is it.
 You can feel compassion,
 But there is no need,

I was born a black cat,
 And this is my role,
 As for the misfortune,
 I take it all.

I’m a black cat,
And this is it,
Sometimes I even find it
Gourgeous and neat,

But sometimes I feel that
Ii is very sad,
Among white people
To be a black cat.

 This world is mad
 And nothing is new,
 I am a black cat,
 And so are you.

We both can not change it,
 But don’t be sad,
 Somebody on earth
 Should be a black cat,

It’s good we met,
Now let’s be shy,
You are a black cat,
And so am I,

But in our black lives,
There will be some light,
Because what’s black,
Can soon become white.

 I am a black cat,
 And there is no way,
 When you are in trouble,
 I would run away.

 But even if I go,
 I’ll be always back,
 Cause what seem white,
 Can soon become black.

As for the adventures,
They will never lack,
Because it’s hard to see
What’s white and what’s black.

But we’ll be the only ones
To see the moonlight,
Cause we are BLACK CATS,
And this is our right.
