City

Настя Серебряная
A song

I’ve been leaving in the country for six years,
I remember that shining dew,
And the grasses like soft emeralds,
These on our meadow grew.

But the city is not so nice.
In winter there’s much ice,
In spring it is very wet,
In summer the flowers are bad,
And autumn is very sad.

The buildings are beautiful, I know,
The museums are full of paints.
But the air isn’t clean; it’s even light-grey,
And in autumn, it often rains.

But the city is not so nice.
In winter there’s much ice,
In spring it is very wet,
In summer the flowers are bad,
And autumn is very sad.

I know the flowerbeds on the Main Square,
But I like when the flowers are free.
I like sitting among yellow daffodils
Under a beautiful tree.

But the city is not so nice.
In winter there’s much ice,
In spring it is very wet,
In summer the flowers are bad,
And autumn is very sad.
