Let us save the Earth

Валентина Фомина
       By V. Fomina

I am anxious about the fate of mankind;
I could hardly calm down at night.
Scenes of death and destruction come into my mind;
You would be horrified at the sight.

Air, water are poisoned, vast forests destroyed;
Babies suffer from hunger at birth.
Gaily bathing in rivers you have to avoid;
Serious harm has been done to the Earth.

There happen much more hurricanes and typhoons;
Heavy rains cause a terrible flood.
They are neither in films nor in lovely cartoons;
Devastation is real and blood.

Our planet is ancient, much older than us;
So we are its daughters, its sons.
People must take good care of it, do that thus
To give next generations a chance.
