An unsent letter - a song

Кристина Девулите
You grew resigned to ugly plights,
Your husband stalked me days and nights,
And somewhere else a charming knight
Was cherishing my thoughts.

I wish you happiness - be well,
And may your husband rot in hell,
As for myself - I'll weave a spell
"Forever-seek-me-not".

Perhaps you'll find some strength to leave,
Perhaps I'll find some love to give,
Yet the existence is so brief,
We never have the time.

The world is sorrowful and vast,
All passions fade, but sonnets last,
And when one meets one's fate at last -
It's hardly worth a dime.

The memories are not erased,
The fantasies are not embraced,
I write with humbleness and grace -
But I exhaust my plot.

I thought I taught my pain to swell,
I thought I had so much to tell -
But I have woven just a spell
"Forever-seek-me-not".
