Джек и Джилл

      

Джек и Джилл пошли на гору               Jack and Jill went up the hill
 За водой с ведром пустым.               To fetch the pail of water;
Джек упал, разбив макушку.              Jack fell down and broke his crown,
Джилл свалилась вслед за ним.            And Jill came tumbling after.

Джек вскочил и устремился               Then up Jack got and home did trot
 К дому из последних сил,                As fast as he could caper;
Теплым уксусным компрессом              And went to bed to mend his head
    Он ранение лечил.                With vinegar and brown paper.

Джилл пришла и ну смеяться                Jill came in and she did grin
  Над нашлёпкою чудной.                To see Jack's paper plaster;
 Стала матушка ругаться,                Mother vexed did whip her next
Впору плакать Джилл самой.                For laughing at Jack's disaster.

Джилл рыдает - Джек хохочет.             Now Jack did laugh and Jill did cry
 Всё равно они потом                But her tears did soon abate;
Будут целый день до ночи                Then Jill did say that they should play
 Во дворе играть вдвоём.                At see-saw across the gate.
