When you are silent

Ирина Манохина
I guess you want to start a quiet riot:
You turn away & don’t look me in the eyes.
I hate your being smug and being silent,
I hate it when you smile so wicked wry.

I guess you just don’t care what I am thinkin’
Keep silence now if it can soothe the pain.
I hate your being cold and gladly winking:
I hate it when you show me your disdain.

I guess you play the game without a purpose.
You can’t but play, because you’re still a child.
I hate it when my suffering gets ‘normous;
I hate you, ‘cause you know you drive me wild.

Your silence tortures me beyond all measure;
You would have laughed if knew to what extent.
I hate your living in the world of pleasure,
I hate your insolence that will not ever bend.

Why should I cry these tears over your riot?
Something inside my heart is burning hot.
I realize I hate it when you are silent,
Because I love you and you love me not.
