Light at the sea

Евгений Шпунт
Lost in the sea, I'm confused and alone
The darkness has fallen, and I'm so far from home
The stars are all gone and the moon disappeared
The night is pitch-black, water's bitter as tears
The boat's starting to leak and I've lost both my oars
In the sea of despair, far away from the shores
Broken and down, hopeless and scared
I can not wake up from this wicked nightmare
I dare to hope though that there is a light
Gentle and warm, the light that will guide
Me to a lighthouse where I will find peace
Where tender hands will wipe away blood and tears
To a place which I will grow to call home
Where no matter what I will not be alone
Then again, this light in the dark, I suppose
May deceive me and leave me to die on the rocks
Where no one will answer my cries and my calls
And then, there may be no light there at all
