The end is nigh

Барбара Морриган
I'll sing you empty, breathless song
Which to the voice of wind belong,
Which you will may be never hear.
As quick as thought it'll disappear.

It'll quickly crumble into sand.
Without beginning, out of end...
Sit down please, enjoy the view,
And I will sing for you.

It's not an ask, I'll be OK,
I tried to change my life, my way,
But I've been lost behind the wars
And hopless falling stars.

I'm cruel, cold. My path is light
Without subway-ended light.
My ringing name was mostly sad
Of things you've ever said.

In our dirty damned world,
Without even kindly word
I tried to be the solar piece
But rockets broke the peace.

And on the odds and ends of us
We'll build the stop and wait the bus.
And drive to nothing day to day,
And so... We'll be OK?

Some day I'll fall down on my knees
And ask nobody "Why is this?"
Just whispering "The end is nigh"
To cold
and silent
night...
