Jerusalem

Роман Камбург

The Earth's umbilicus got its cord from heaven.
World's axis here is driven.
Jerusalem then was a singular ovum --
A place where lived the world's embryo,
The fetus of religions and spiritual wills.
The egg cracked open. Pain thrilled
The millenia-overflown universe.
Lit millions of lyres. Dispersed
With reckless centrifugal might
Throughout the world many a Wight..
This awful might moves the Earth ever since
Perturbs quietude and minds confuses
With dashing power its supremacy proclaims
A little active point -- Jerusalem.
