He stared in the fire,deep in thought

He stared for hours, he stared for the days,
He remembered her touch more gentle than lace.
He tried to be honest but lied in her face,
He said her no word, he said her no phrase.
She sat next to him but he left no choice,

She loved more than life his strength and his poise.

He damaged her soul - now there's a wrack.
He ate her whole heart - it was his snack,
He lunched every day, she heard just "smack-smack".
She've found a husband, she've found a boy,
She loved him a lot - he wasn't a toy.
He gave her the future, he gave her a joy,
Their daughter was prettier than Helen of Troy.
Her ex-boy was jealous. He got a shock
Cause he was no more in true lover's knot.
