The wanderer

Елена Гребенникова
Tired of life and living tired,
I put the latch and close the door,
Inside my mind I’m still unwired,
I scatter feelings on the floor.

I dream my car is on a highway,
Wheels speeding up and brakes undone,
Large road turns into a byway,
I dip into the golden sun.

I raise my head and look up high,
I see the years that pass me by,
I won and lost, I gambled life,
My clothes're torn, heart pierced with glaive.

The lake is gleaming with the sunlight,
Reflecting clouds upon the sky,
The day declines into the star night,
In blissful silence seagulls fly.

At universe amazed I'm gazing,
Unspoken joy warms up my heart,
In evening fog my sorrows're hazing,
Goodbye old day, from thee I part.

I raise my head and look up high,
I see the years that pass me by,
I won and lost, I gambled life,
My clothes're torn, heart pierced with glaive.
