When Boys Leave

Лиза Ройт
I
Don’t you walk on me-
It’s  the game of hearts;
Down the sleeve they go
When the train departs
It’s a way to start
And gain back control-
You’re a perfect guy
To ignore the call
II
Would you please explain
Late-night circus gig
When you join up with
Heavy-drinking league;
You enjoy the show
And  set up a fight
For you choose to be
Only half-time bright.
III
I’m a tough-nut  type-
More toothpicks for you.
Though you might pretend
That you’ve got no clue,
You could see it was
Plain old Fate at work
If you walk on me-
I will stop the clock
