OCTOBER PARTY.
October gave a party,
The trees by hundreds came,
The chestnuts, oaks and maples,
And leaves of every name.
The chestnuts came in yellow,
The oaks in crimson dressed,
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best.
The sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

Октябрь устроил вечер,
И с золотой земли
На праздничную встречу
Деревья все пришли.
Нарядам небывалым
Сопутствовал успех,
Но платья клёнов алых
Красивей были всех!
Им осень расстилает
Ковёр роскошный свой
И танец начинает
Под ветра свист и вой.
