Фёдор Свешников
I know that a Katsumi Fleur-de-lis is blooming
Some place among the herbs and chestnuts.
Then in the mounts anigh Sukhumi
The flowery paradise will
Scent with Greek Perfume.

I know about a shepherd boy
Who tends his flock of sheep
From severe West to a flashy stream.
I know there is a mirage far away
Where goannas found their shelter.

The boys jump down a bridge
To fill their hands with sand
Or pick some flowers from the bed.
All jars are full of wine.
A priest with a golden cross.

I know 'bout a girl who braids her hair
With pensive gaze through the window.
Good animals and birds
Drink dew in the woods.
A woman carrying her basket.

I know the war won't come again
And men won't use their guns.
And lovers will keep their faith.
The table will abound with food
And mugs be filled with water.
