Can there be too much of paradise?

Катерина Богуш
Can there be too much of paradise?
Can there be too much of closeness?
Can there be too many shining stars?
Can there be too much ... of us?

Can you still miss me after morning hugs?
Do you still think of me when stuck on beltway?
Would I still have this sudden stabbing pain,
When you are standing in the doorway?

I can be brave and reckless for your love,
I can burn bridges and abandon reason.
But I am weak against the passing time,
Days and monotony of being.

Isn't it scary when you think it is yours,
When all the fortresses have fallen,
That this elusive elixir of love
Evaporates through daily quarrels?

Just as a butterfly can not be tamed,
Just as a sunshine can't be bottled,
I take my daily pills of lovely eyes
And cherish blessing days of paradise.
