The worldly ambition and lust of the eyes,
And further is moving my heavenly prize.
In order to have a divine accord
I have to obey and submit to the Lord,
Relinquish to Him all that dwells in my heart –
My children, the man that I love, and my art
And, emptied, naked, beg Christ to replace
All that He had taken with nothing but grace.
