A Man Of War

Пилипенко Сергей
Father, give me a sign.
Father, give me a sign.
How can I make it through this fire?
I don't want to die,
I don't want to die -
So much want just to survive.
All around me has turned to ashes,
I raise my eyes
Up to the skies,
Please help me!

Here I stand alone awaiting for my death.
Father, hear my prayer and my final breath.
I can hear the voices from the other side.
They're calling my name, they're calling my name.

Who sined the deal with the devil?
Why do people kill for peace - the peace by means of war?
Where is your power, father, to stop these bloody games?
Why should we believe in you if you are not there?

So much to realise,
We pay the priceless price
For the things that have nothing to do with us.
I am a man of war
And I've been fighting for
Tones of lies, being mesmerized.
The only thing worth fighting for
Is my own life,
My kids and wife.
Amen!

Here a fool I am, I start to use my mind.
I did what I was told never asking why.
Now I am about to leave this world for the fatbottomed sake.
I've done a mistake, what a mistake!

Who signed the deal with the devil?
We are just slave-machines for ones who never care.
Father, please give us wisdom, help us understand.
Or why should we believe in you if you're never there?
