apart

Вероника Ананасова
Let me ask you,
What do you think of a gap? One single gap.

Let me ask you,
What if we were at the mercy of one tiny little blank?

If there happen to be much space
Between the two of us,

Trust me,

I will be dwelling in a triangle of a letter ‘A’
While you’ll be evenly leaning
Against the straight line of mighty ‘P’.
I will venture to climb to the very top
Of this narrow ladder-like vowel
To make my shouts heard,
Until you look out of the crooked window of the consonant
That seems unstable given having only one leg.

Apart a part apart a part apart a part

Ironically, ‘apart’ is written together
And ‘to be a part of each other’ seems hopelessly separated.

Apart from a part of me that seeks salvation,
I urge you to create a gap but erase the distance.

Make a step, make a tiny step and
Apart can turn into you being a part of me
And me being a part of you.
