Зелиг Лихтер
When we were thirty years old,
The life was long and simply endless.
The days were swift, the sun was gold.
We played guitar no worse than Hendrix.

When we were thirty years old,
We talked till dawn and were not tired.
The summer changed the winter cold.
We loved so long and with desire.

When we were thirty years old,
We wanted everything and now,
Sometimes believed in stories told
And had a change-the-world knowhow.

When we were thirty years old,
We loved and worshipped our children
And taught them to be honest, bold
And find the soul in people hidden.

When we ARE thirty years old,
We'll sing the songs we sang our babies,
The stories that were never told
To thirty years old boys and ladies.....
