В лазури цветы граната!
Матросская слобода!
Какое легкое небо
и как листва молода!
Изменчивый ветер моря!
Матросская слобода!
Обветрена, сероглаза,
и горе ей не беда!
И женский голос заводит:
"Морской обычай такой -
мужчине море законом,
а сердцу ветер морской!"
- Святая мать кармелитов,
пошли нам ясные дни
и наши весла, мадонна,
своей рукой осени!
...Под вечер воздух мерцает,
закат - как сон наяву
и капли слез золотые
вдали кропят синеву.
- Как будто ветер вернулся
и даль морская близка -
и всех затерянных в море
нашла глазами тоска.
Изменчивый ветер моря!
Матросский родной очаг!
На сердце ладанка с пеплом
и синий холст на плечах!
В лазури цветы граната.
Веселье в ладу с тоской.
Мужчине море законом,
а сердцу - ветер морской!

is glimmering like a dream
and teardrops are falling gilded
are falling on heavens dim
it seems that the wind is here
and ocean is here again
and those who are lost in ocean
are touched by the sorrow's hand
the fleeting winds of the ocean!

and blue is the robe to be worn

the joy going near ennui
