A TALE ABOUT THE TAIL

A Worm wrote a tale
About his tail
And started to read to his friend.
But when he read up
The tale to the end,
The friend hid himself in the sand.

THE STURDIEST GOALKEEPER

A goalkeeper Hippo
Was called to the team.
The Coach is really proud of him:
His stomach is wide,
And his muzzle is great.
And there`s no doubt
He`ll just lock the gate.
The solid goalkeeper,
Imposing and tall –
The sturdiest of all.
He will not miss the ball!

THE LAW OF JUNGLE

The jungle is scary.
Some here are hairy,
Some have awful claws,
Fangs, tusks, mighty paws,
And terrible growling,
And eerie roaring…
Their poison, or glance
Can kill you at once.
And all here would rather
Devour each other.

 DADDY CHIPMUNK

Last night Daddy Chipmunk
Brought home some loot:
A backpack of grains,
A basket of fruit,
A sack of peanuts,
And a cheek pouch of seeds –
For his dear wife
And beloved toothy kids.

WHY PARROT FORGOT IT'S TONGUE

A Parrot neighed, mooed and tweeted,
Meowed, barked, cuckooed and bleated,
It learned to crow, quack and roar,
To grunt fiercely like a boar –
It imitated anyone…
Until forgot its native tongue.

THUNDER

Flighty Windstorm swept the sky,
Heaping clouds up on high.
Suddenly the shower poured –
On the forest, on the pond,
On the meadow, on the road,
On the lamb, and on the goat…
Thunder strictly looked around,
Frowned severely and rumbled.

FLIRTING

A worm was flirting with a pear:
-Oh, let me tickle you, my dear!

Responding to his caress, the pear
Smiled: “You will eat me up, I fear.

You won`t befool me, crafty pickle!
However I don`t mind a tickle.”

BREAKFAST FOR MOSQUITOES

A Mosquito likes to eat
Grass and berries, rye and wheat.
While his Daughter`s favorite food
Is a hiker in the wood.

CHARMING SNOWMAN

A Hare admires a Snowman:
"It`s so cool and charming,
Especially its carrot nose
That looks immense and yummy!"

THE PAN AND THE KETTLE

Yhe Pan met the Kettle,
A passionate lad.
They grumbled,
They gurgled.
And lately got wed.

A PRESENT

A Lamb got a present -
A bouquet of flowers:
Remarkable daisies,
Dondellions, clovers.

The Lamb liked the present.
She gratefully bleated:
"Ba-a, thanks for the bouquet!" -
And started to eat it.

MOTHER WILL BE HAPPY

It is raining cats and dogs.
I`ve got cold, I`ve got wet.
I ran home, but at the doors
Came across a little cat.

It was trembling, poor thing,
Hungry, soaked to the bone.
Don`t cry, my little being,
I would like to take you home.

Have no fear, meet my mother.
"I`m happy! - she will say.
Furthermore my younger brother
Brought a doggy yesterday.

A JOY

The Pan is gurgling with a joy,
And Granny`s riding like a boy.
Why are they merry, full of fun?
"I like the porridge!" - said Grandson.

A BATTLE

A Ban, a Sweet, a Cake, a Steak,
A Sausage took the fight -
For many hours without a break -
Failed to defeat the Diet.

But suddenly a Ruddy Pie
Stepped forward one-on-one,
Attacked the Diet, a daring guy -
And fortunately won.

BIRTHDAY

All are happy -
Pastries, sweets, marmelade.
Jolly bubbles`re
Animating lemonade.
Here are cookies,
And marshmellows, and tea -
Celebrating my Birthday with me.

A SPRING LEAF

A Leaf hatched out
And looked around.
It saw blue sky
And brown ground,
Green leaves, white clouds,
Black midges, and
The Sun, that gently
Caressed its hand.

A Wind was flying
By the place.
He liked the Leaf,
And kissed its face.

HOW TO TREAT A FOOT

A playing kitten
Hurt his foot.
And now he limps,
He`s in bad mood.

"Meow, Mummy!" -
He complains.
How can his Mummy
Lessen his pain?

She will just lick him
There and here:
His nose, his crown,
His cheek, his ear,
She`ll sing "Purr-purr"
In a terder way.
At once the pain
Will go away.

WHERE`S THE SOCK?

Once, when the master
Fell asleep,
His nimble Sock
Contrived to slip
Under the bed.
And there he met
A Sleeper, a Wrapper,
And a Hair-net.

They played leapfrog
And blind men`s buff.
The Sock and the Slipper
Fell in love.

They swept the dust,
And then got wed.
And stayed forever
Under the bed.

ONCE WHEN

Once when the guns get tired of shooting,
And the evil bombs all fly away -
That happy time will be quite suiting
To hug the toys and start to play.

You`ll snuggle up your Teddy-bear,
And he will whisper you a poem.
And a pretty Dolly with curly hair
Will ask: Well, can we go home?

CHEER UP!

The Crucian said:
I`m so sad,
Our pond is dirty,
Boring, wet.

The Sheat-fish grumbled:
Oh, dear!
In fish soup
It`s much worse than here.

THE WOLVES WILL RUN AWAY

Mom Hare hugs her Baby with cheering smile:
"We`ll hide in our shelter for a while.
Don`t cry, all scary wolves will run away.
And we`ll get out to the lawn and play,
We`ll gather mushrooms, jump without fear..."
And wipes the Baby`s tears with her ear.
