You only live twice

“You only live twice“ is another film about James Bond, the famous secret British agent.
Many years ago when the former USSR and the USA confronted each other, a third force wanted to play on that rivalry. As you know both nations were also space powers, so one day someone stole their spaceships, and each country thought it was its opponent’s fault.
In every Bondiana film there are lots of Bad Guys who dream of killing him. This one was no exception.
The first attempt to kill him took place when the Good Guy was about to get into his car. All of a sudden, a black car with a pack of thugs appeared round the corner. Some naïve TV viewers started rubbing their hands in sweet anticipation, but alas, my friends - the film lasts more than ninety minutes... Unfortunately for them and for the killers, James had a chance to jump into some lady’s car and pretty soon he was nowhere to be seen. I am sure the unhappy killers cried like little babies...
The second attempt took place in the port. Some unskilled workers ( trade union members and very good fathers, of course ) beat James up. The poor workers had to punch him for a while before he lost conscience, or maybe it happened because his head met repeatedly a steel rod. Anyway, as it turned out, a woman who was simply called “number eleven” captured him (thank God not 13 – otherwise it would be a horror film, which I quite detest).
It took James a short time to seduce her and soon they were on a “honeymoon” plane, but the cruel lady chained him to his seat and kissed him goodbye. (My father always taught me not to trust females who refuse to give their first names. In fact, all they want is your accommodation and some fun). Again, James Bond chose to survive and managed to land the plane safe and sound.
The fourth attempt (are you still counting?) happened when James was examining one of the islands with a very strange volcano. The secret agent went shopping in a helicopter hoping to combine business and pleasure. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and all that stuff. Suddenly four enemy helicopters loomed on the horizon. You won’t believe it, but they didn’t kill him again! Do they keep only stay downers in their military academies?
Mr. Bond didn’t graduate from a KGB school, but even he by the end of the film realized that the secret organization which tried to provoke a conflict between the USSR and America was inside the “volcano”.
The British agent wanted to hijack a new rocket, but he was caught red handed and taken to his worst enemy “Number One”. His real name was Mr. Blowfield. He told Mr. Bond a lot of silly things and one of his phrases struck me most: “You only live twice, Mr. Bond”.
Of course, “Number One” wanted to kill James but the secret agent was lucky again. He escaped his death and let his friends inside the volcano. Those peace-loving sadists killed everybody left and right and thus the world was saved.
