Light up a cigarette

Light up a cigarette and tell me more lies.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow.
The night turns into day and I become again disguised;
Another ray of light is all I’d like to borrow.

Ashamed I lost my track of time;
I wish I was so wise where I was foolish.
The day the water will become the wine
Is everything that I will ever cherish.

I’d like to scream but mouth is agonizing,
Try run and hide but there’s no shelter.
Two hundred reasons I will never like surprises,
Could be few hundred more but I just never care

Take a closer look—the tears are drying.
I wish to say hello as last year
I’m never to be told but say ‘keep trying’—
Another chance to lose but not my fears.

Light up a cigarette and tell another lie;
I’m wide awake for maybe last time.
I promise I might brake but never die—
When your heart stops so will do mine…
