THE BALLAD ABOUT E-MAIL

There was a poet John,
of course, the number one.
And he was looking
for a job at Macy’s,
not for a neat, clean clerk,
but for a cleaning work,
since Macy’s wasn’t
a reader of his verses.

He rang their doorbell
but, having no e-mail,
was the main reason
that he wasn’t hired:
although he reached the score,
they need e-mail just for
the notice him when his
assignment started.

But John was not upset,
he ventured then to set
his own and successful
cleaning business.
He hadn’t helpers’ squad,
and there was only God
who helped him and became
his rescue’s witness.

God gave John an advice.
Advice was very wise:
to hire two, then ten,
then twenty persons,
then get much more of them –
a hundred working men
and women – in reality,
not verses.

As his success moved up
and business never stopped,
and income too became
one day much greater, –
a lady of “The Times”,
intelligent and nice,
then came to him
for writing in Newspaper.

The lady told him: “I
see no e-mail here. Why?
You see, your business
would be a branch’s basis…”
And Johnny answered: “ Well,
if I got an e-mail,
I would be cleaning bathrooms
at that Macy’s”.
