Pearl harbor

In the year of nineteen fourty one
There was a war. It had begun
And people, knowing their right,
Were ready then to go and fight.

The world involved in the cruel war
Was like a man with the broken jaw.
It could not speak but only watch
The Death with scythe and its approach.

The politicians day by day
Were saying: “It would be OK
If we persuaded people kill.
By this we’ll do our own deal”.

Not realizing what they do
The soldiers fought for “peace” and “truth”.
The governments pursued their goals,
The price for it were human souls.

The Nazi Germany, Japan
Had their own cunning plan.
With Italy they broke the peace
Like a sharp knife cuts cheese.

When Hirohito, the emperor,
With threat of violence and terror
Declared: “It is our role,
All the Pacific we’ll control”.

In early morning soldiers slept.
Nobody knew about the threat.
And suddenly was heard a sound,
As if earthquake would shake the ground.

The airplanes in the air
Made soldiers frightened, pale, and scared.
The curses thrown to the sky
Were like a storm: “I’m young to die!”

The bombings of the Japanese
Made soldiers fall on their knees.
The people perishing like prey
Were thinking of the better days.

The groans of the wounded, pain…
The bombs were falling like the rain.
The ocean there was coloured red
Due to the blood, due to the dead.

The ships and planes have been destroyed
The shame nobody could avoid.
Young fellows suffering would pray:
“Revenge will come some other day”

The shock, the panic, and the stress
Were catching them. There was a mess.
Around them were screams,shrieks, yells
With fire burning like in hell.

Then Roosevelt being very sad
Addressed the government. He said:
“A day that’ll live in infamy”.
With anger to the enemies.

That day the Navy lost its might,
Due to the horror from the height.
The mother country lost its sons
Because they hadn’t any chance.
