Three things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and steadily we reflect upon them, namely,

1. the fact that the only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history;

2. the fact that history teaches us that neither nations nor governments learn nothing from it; and 

3. the fact that if the facts contradict my theory, so the worse for the facts.
