The rebellious chief Riego was strangled.
The zealous flatterer said : "Im very glad,
The world'll be saved of a villain owing to it."
Everybody fell info silence,
Everybody cast down his eyus,
Everybody was made to laugb at condemnation's
Quikness. Riego was sinful before
Ferdinand. I agree. And be was hung for
It. Is it decent to do vielence at the heat
Of the moment to the hangman's victum, indeed ?
The soveregn himself did not want to endow
This benevolence with smile. Flatterers,
Flatterers, do try to keep nobleness'
Bearing even in your actions low.
