Why did you love Jesus?
Is it because He provides?
Is it because He teaches us?
Is it because He guides?
Is it because He arranges
your days without a strife?
Is it because your angels
are guarding your house and life?
Is it because the air
by wind your sails are filling?
Or maybe, after a prayer
you had a miraculous healing?
But did you know his mercy
and His acceptance of you,
when you were wretched and unworthy,
He made your soul anew?
For He, your Creator and Saviour,
your King had endured the cross,
so you could His Kingdom savour
and live because of His loss?
Yes, Jesus alone frees us
from our sinful past.
So, why did you love Jesus?
And does your love still last?
