The worst of all is that our son and daughter
had witnessed all abuse, absorbed the style
of the relationship so miserably rotten,
and their minds learned to reconcile
repulsive things that were once so feared,
this wretchedness - with their expectations.
Indeed, the young are for survival geared
and use all means of life’s adaptation,
accepting everything, as if it were the norm
between a woman and a man today,
where lack of love and disrespect now swarm,
and where trust is easy to betray.
