stop running

Åëåíà Ãóìåðîâà Øàðèïîâà
I have to confess I’ve decided
To pause of my run for a while,
Cause after my first half in Tallinn
I hardly have covered a mile.

It might be surprising for someone:
Today it’s not my cup of tea.
I don’t feel I’m really excited
Like it used to be through the year.

I’ve done it! I’ve got it! I’ve won it!
My medal is here on the wall.
And there is no reason to hide that
I need to relax after all.

I’m sitting and waiting with patience
Restoring my passion for run.
I’m sure it should give me some pleasure
Although it’s not just for fun.

Right now I’m just keeping my promise
To build up the strength on my own.
I hope when I finally do it
My running will bring me back home.
