68. Roland s Meditations

Ôåëèêñ Ðåìîâ
(Inspired by Stephen King’s The Dark Tower)

Oh, how I long to stand before
The object I dream of at night.
What will the Dark Tower give to me?
Will I see the dark or the light?

Will this great center of all worlds
Put me to hell or paradise?
And will I sacrifice my friends
For it? Is not that at a price?

I’m tired of walking through the lands,
Seeing all irreversibly changed.
So many miles are left behind.
Will ever our world be arranged?

Oh, how I wish to see the day
When we attain our longed-for end.
Oh Lord, don’t let me do the wrong,
Don’t let me sacrifice my friends,

For I don’t know what I will choose
When seeing the Tower before my eyes.
I wish we’d all enjoy its sight,
So let our friendship never die.
